Kyle Texas is located along IH-35 approximately 15 miles South of Austin and 8 miles North of San Marcos Texas. The City of Kyle came into existence when the Great Northern Railroad connected Austin and San Antonio. David Moore and Kyle Ferguson whom the City of Kyle is named donated 200 acres of land for a town site. Many of the newly formed town moved from near by Mountain City. The 200 acre tract was subdivided into parcels in 1880 and were sold under an Oak Tree now known as Auction Oak. Kyle is the sixth fastest growing city’s in Texas, but still has it’s old time charm.

Kyle Public Schools
Most of the Kyle Texas area is located within the Hays Consolidated School District. Currently Hays CISD consists of two High Schools, five Middle Schools and thirteen Elementary Schools. The Districts also has a performing arts center, award winning atheletic and culinary arts programs. Hays High School has a Marine Jr ROTC Program while Lehman High School has a Navy Jr. ROTC program.

The Seton Medical Center Hays opened a State-of-the-art facility in October 2009. This facility currently has 113 beds with room for an additional 300. Kyle Parks and Recreation
The City of Kyle Park and Recreation in recent years has grown to keep up with the growth of population. Today the City of Kyle has 6 Public Parks. Many of them have features such as disc golf courses, baseball and football fields, hike/bike trails, public swimming pool, stocked fishing ponds and large green areas. Many of these facilities are available for rental to the public for social or commercial events.
Kyle Market Days and Farmers Market
The Kyle Market Day’s are held the first Saturday of each month between April and November around the Historic City Square . Market Days feature a Farmer’s Market with fresh produce, food booths, live music, arts and crafts. The Kyle Lion’s Club kicks off the event with a Fajita Fiesta and Bar B Que Cook Off.
Kyle Music and Art Festival
Each year the Third Weekend of October the Kyle Chamber of Commerce hold the annual Music Festival. The Festival starts off with a Parade giving prizes for the most colorful and best spirited float. The Kyle Music festival features Live Music, a carnival and BBQ cook off. The event is held at the Thunderhill Raceway located north of Yarrington on the North bound feeder road of IH-35.
